What are YOTs_Youth Offending Team
Background to Croydon Youth Offending Team
There is a YOT in every local authority in England and that includes Croydon. They are made up of representatives from the both the police and the Probation Service and can include social services, health, education, drugs and alcohol misuse and housing officers.
Every YOT is managed by a YOT manager who is responsible for co-ordinating the work of the youth justice services.
The CROYDON YOT was made up of representatives from Children's Services, Probation, the Police, Health, Education and other local organisations. This multi-agency approach is designed to address the 'risk' factors associated with offending and to meet the holistic needs of young people.
